Assemble payload systems including avionics harnessing, click bond applications, and separation systems using written procedures, engineering drawings, and models. Operate precision tools and material handling equipment in clean room operations and from heights. Work closely with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency. Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles. Enable Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
- Experience in instrumentation and electrical harness routing or general aerospace/launch vehicle assembly
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
- Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds
- Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
- Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 50lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in small, restricted areas
Responsibilities
- Assemble payload systems including avionics harnessing, click bond applications, and separation systems according to written procedures, engineering drawings, and models
- Apply various types of RTV and epoxy bonding
- Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and flight vehicle transportation equipment
- Operate precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
- Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles
