Aerospace Electronics Source Inspector

The Source Inspector performs inspection operations on in-process or completed aerospace hardware, including dimensional and visual inspections. They review all paperwork relating to the product, such as final inspection, receiving inspection, outside processing, and assembly. Source inspections occur at end customer’s suppliers’ locations, requiring travel.

Daily tasks include verifying supplier’s FAI to AS9102 for accuracy and completeness using hand tools and gaging techniques. The role demands fluency in blueprint interpretation and GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Knowledge of CMM inspection processes supports these verification activities.

Work is performed under general supervision in a quality-focused environment emphasizing professionalism and attention to detail. The inspector collaborates effectively while maintaining independent decision-making and analytical skills. IPC600 and 610 standards guide PCB/PCBA inspections.
