Long Beach, US · Full-time · $132,000 – $181,500
About this role
We are seeking a technical expert to advance the state of the art in turbine design for space applications. You will collaborate with propulsion development and manufacturing teams to incorporate improvements into future engine designs.
As a Senior Turbomachinery Engineer, you will drive your own projects from concept to completion, working through challenging issues unique to rocket turbopumps. Your work will span the interfaces of design, development, and analysis of turbomachinery, with a focus on turbine aerodynamic and structural performance.
You will join the propulsion team responsible for the Aeon-R engine systems powering the Terran R vehicle. This team owns engine design from concept through launch and reuse, partnering heavily with manufacturing, test, launch, and integration teams to achieve first launch in 2026.
Relativity offers an environment where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. You will collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time, leaving your mark on the product, process, and culture.
