About this role
DCS Corp has an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Structural Engineer to support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) Modeling, Analysis, and Tools Support (SEMATS) 3 contract. The work furthers the USAF SEEK EAGLE aircraft/store compatibility effort and broader USAF goals. This role focuses on critical structural evaluations in aerospace defense.
Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft, weapons, and suspension carriage systems using approved loads, stress analysis, and test methods. Develop and execute sophisticated aircraft load prediction tools for inertia and aerodynamic loads. Provide sound carriage limit recommendations based on rigorous analysis.
Develop and execute safe, efficient flight test plans while reducing and interpreting flight test data. Assess analysis approaches, define required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met. Perform work in a sensitive environment requiring U.S. Citizenship and Secret clearance eligibility.
Contribute to USAF aircraft compatibility and airworthiness processes amid weapon systems integration challenges. Advance skills in external loads, stress analysis, and flight testing within a defense-focused team. Support broader Air Force objectives through innovative modeling and tools.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required due to sensitivity of customer related requirements
- Mid-Level: Bachelor degree with 8 or more years of demonstrated experience in an applicable engineering discipline, familiar with aerospace airworthiness requirements/processes
- Mid-Level: Master's degree with 6 or more years’ experience with an ABET accredited degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- Senior Level: Bachelor degree with 15 or more years of demonstrated experience in an applicable engineering discipline, familiar with aerospace airworthiness requirements/processes
- Senior Level: Master's degree with 6 or more years’ experience with an ABET accredited degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the structural integrity of aircraft, weapons, and suspension carriage systems based on approved loads, stress analysis and test methods and provide sound carriage limit recommendations
- Develop and execute sophisticated aircraft load prediction tools for predicting aircraft and weapon inertia and aerodynamic loads and environments
- Develop and execute safe, efficient flight test plans
- Reduce and interpret flight test data
- Assess analysis approaches and results, define any required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met
