About this role
This role serves as the technical backbone of the Nadir production line, owning the documented, optimized, and continuously improved processes that enable every technician to build with precision and confidence. The Manufacturing Process Engineer creates and maintains Work Order Templates, Standard Work Instructions, and all associated build documentation to the highest standards in quality, accuracy to design, and efficiency.
Working in a hybrid environment—approximately 50–60% engineering workspace and 40–50% production floor—the Process ME bridges the gap between design engineering intent and manufacturing execution. This engineer leads Design for Manufacturability reviews, identifies design-to-manufacturing gaps during NPI phases, and partners with Responsible Engineers to evaluate manufacturability tradeoffs.
Quality ownership is a critical dimension of this role, including Non-Conformance trend analysis, facilitating Leo Quality Review meetings, and leading root cause investigations using methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D to drive systemic corrective actions. The engineer also leads rate readiness efforts through time studies, capacity analyses, and labor standard setting.
This engineer drives Kaizen events, develops build strategies for rate scale-up milestones, and removes systemic flow constraints while owning SAP/MES data integrity including mBOM accuracy and production versions. As the primary technical liaison between Process ME and Front Line Support functions, this role drives feedback loops between the floor and documentation team to anticipate process risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- Experience creating process documentation
- Experience in root-cause problem solving
- Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, 5Y, FMEA, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, Run Charts, Pareto Analysis
- Experience with SAP or an equivalent MES/ERP system for mBOM and production version management
- Experience in hardware manufacturing processes and quality systems
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve Work Order Templates, Standard Work Instructions, and process documentation across multiple process areas, setting standards and coaching MEs on best practices
- Lead Design for Manufacturability reviews for assigned assemblies, proactively identifying design-to-manufacturing gaps and driving design changes to resolution
- Own Non-Conformance trend analysis and drive systemic corrective actions using structured root cause methods (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) across multiple process areas
- Lead line optimization and rate readiness efforts including time studies, capacity analyses, and labor standard setting for assigned production areas
- Own SAP/MES data integrity across multiple process areas and develop floor stock strategies for new builds and rate changes
- Serve as primary technical liaison between Process ME and Front Line Support ME functions, driving structured feedback loops between the floor and documentation team
- Identify, propose, and execute continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen events, GSE requests, and engineering change proposals
- Develop and execute build strategy for rate scale-up milestones, identifying and removing systemic flow constraints
Benefits
- Hybrid work environment with approximately 50–60% engineering workspace and 40–50% production floor time
- Opportunity to lead cross-functional process and quality problem-solving with broad organizational impact
- Role includes ownership of SAP/MES data integrity and floor stock strategy development
- Direct involvement in rate scale-up milestones and systemic flow constraint removal
