About this role

At ACE Thermal Systems, the Commodity Manager leads tactical procurement and supplier management for assigned commodity groups. The role develops category strategies while managing supplier performance to deliver cost reduction and risk mitigation for aerospace programs.

Daily work includes identifying and qualifying suppliers that meet technical and quality standards. The manager establishes performance metrics, conducts business reviews, and drives continuous improvement with strategic partners across bleed air and environmental control systems.

Collaboration occurs daily with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Operations, and Finance teams. The position supports new product introductions, design-to-cost efforts, and alignment of sourcing strategies with program schedules and technical requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
5 years of purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing or supply chain
2 years of experience leading and developing a team
Proven track record of effective commodity and supplier management
Understanding of aerospace and defense standards, export controls, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

Identify, select, and qualify suppliers that meet technical, quality, and delivery expectations
Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, service level agreements, and corrective action plans
Conduct regular supplier business reviews and on-site audits
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and supplier development with strategic partners
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Program Management to align sourcing with technical requirements
Support new product introductions and transitions to optimized supply chains
Lead cost-reduction initiatives through negotiations, value engineering, and supplier consolidation
Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks including capacity constraints, long lead times, and obsolescence
