About this role
The Boeing Company seeks a Senior Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer to join the Defense Space Government Design Safety Core team within Enterprise Safety. The role focuses on establishing a safety engineering function across the company and developing enduring product safety design processes to assure safety, quality, integrity, and mission success.
Day-to-day work includes collaborating with internal stakeholders to address challenges in performing safety analysis activities consistent with industry standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, and Mil-Std-882E. The engineer develops process guidance, training content, best practice documentation, and model-based capabilities for system safety and mission assurance.
Enterprise Safety partners with design, test, modifications, and sustainment organizations to implement policies, procedures, capabilities, standards, and training that support product and system safety aligned with Boeing’s Safety Management System and industry best practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship; final post-start U.S. Top Secret clearance and Special Program Access required
- 2+ years of leadership experience in the development of System Safety Hazard Analyses
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand challenges related to performing safety analysis activities consistent with applicable industry standards
- Develop relevant process guidance, training content, best practice documentation, or model-based capabilities specific to system safety and mission assurance
- Contribute to Safety Engineering College by developing training material on product safety fundamentals including FHAs, FTAs, FMEAs, Development Assurance, and software safety
- Investigate model-based systems engineering tools to digitally connect, store, and integrate critical safety deliverables such as Functional Hazards Assessments and Fault Trees
