About this role

PPG is immediately hiring an Aerospace Production Operator for our Grand Prairie, TX facility. In this role, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need it, directly affecting people's lives.

As a Production Operator, you will set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing production equipment including machining, processing, assembly, and packaging. Your day-to-day work involves operating equipment safely and effectively, performing regular maintenance, and inspecting equipment to identify any needed repairs or malfunctions.

You will work alongside a team of operators, aiding junior operators in their assigned responsibilities and helping to maintain a safe, productive environment. The role requires following all safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation, and you may operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer production equipment between the warehouse and working area.

This position offers the opportunity to evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements, contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Must have use of or access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or political asylee/refugee
  • Must provide one of the following forms of identification: Passport, Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization (USCIS Form N-550 or N-570), or Permanent Resident Card (USCIS Form I-551)
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation

Responsibilities

  • Set up production equipment and supplies before executing job orders
  • Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working condition
  • Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions, and repairs
  • Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure production capacity and quality
  • Aid junior operators in their assigned responsibilities
  • Repair and clean equipment when needed
  • Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer production equipment between warehouse and working area

Benefits

  • Pay rate of $22.52 per hour
  • 1st Shift: 5:00AM-1:30PM or 2nd Shift: 1:30PM-10:00PM
  • Overtime available as needed
