About this role

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. The position ensures Avionics & Communication Systems products are delivered on time to meet vehicle commitments. It directly supports sustainable infrastructure for crew and cargo transport from Earth to the lunar surface.

You will quantitatively manage scope by presenting status, risks, opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management. Hands-on leadership of an agile process drives week-to-week planning and tracking. You may serve in a scrum master role to bring agile methods that improve execution efficiency.

You will work directly with NASA and National Team Partners on the Human Landing System Sustaining Lunar Development program. The position requires dedication to a culture of safety and will impact the history of space exploration. Collaboration with engineers and program managers maintains alignment between the program plan and daily team execution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience related to software development.
  • Experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust plans of product deliveries and lead tracking of key operating metrics including technical, cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Identify and define problem statements and build realistic project schedules with authority to purchase within an approved budget.
  • Work with technical leads to define program scope and create program plans.
  • Work with program management toward long-range objectives without appreciable direction and resolve technical objectives to develop solutions.
  • Provide regular status updates and resolve project discrepancies in schedule, budget, and resources.
  • Engage with developers on significant issues to report to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Responsible Engineers and Team Leads to own the technical success of product development.
  • Help run contracts and produce statements of work.
