Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer

Amazon Leo delivers fast, reliable internet through its low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer leads technicians through satellite electrical integration, test validation, and battery charging operations. The role also includes cross-training with the propellant loading team using overhead cranes, forklifts, and specialized ground systems.

Daily work centers on the shop floor directing electrical operations and verifying satellite health through computer-controlled telemetry. Engineers operate power supplies, run scripts, review spacecraft data, and use precision tools such as torque wrenches and multi-meters in clean-room and ESD-controlled environments. They execute tasks to meet production schedules while maintaining safety standards.

The position requires close collaboration with Launch Operations, engineering, and quality teams to set up integration equipment and maintain repeatable processes. Work occurs primarily on second shift Monday through Friday, with occasional off-shift or weekend support based on launch schedules. The environment is highly technical, fast-paced, and collaborative.

Engineers author work instructions, implement process controls, resolve anomalies, and drive continuous improvements that reduce non-conformances. They mentor junior team members and apply engineering best practices to satellite handling and testing operations in a safe, efficient manner.
