Join our elite R&D team as Senior Aerodynamics Engineer developing transformative low-cost interceptors for DoD applications. Architect, prototype, and implement aerodynamic designs for highly maneuverable, small diameter surface-to-air interceptors. Shape airframe geometries, inform control surface and propulsion integration, and define flight envelopes from launch to endgame.

Lead aerodynamics around our patented interferometric RF seeker technology for low-complexity, high-performance interceptors. Interface directly with guidance, manufacturing, and structures experts to exploit seeker capabilities fully. Develop adaptive configurations maintaining stability across dispersed environments, atmospheric conditions, and threat scenarios.

Work in a small, agile team taking concepts from whiteboard sketches to CFD to flight tests in months. Pioneer revolutionary missile defense systems and novel platforms from space to seabed. Disrupt the status quo with principled AI and rapid innovation from napkin to the field.

Requirements

  • Master's degree minimum in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar technical field
  • Seven years of full-time professional experience in aerodynamics and flight vehicle design roles
  • Ability to possess or obtain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Expertise in modern aerodynamic and aero control design methodologies
  • Proficiency in wave drag minimization and control surface optimization from baseline designs or from scratch
  • Strong knowledge of shocks, stability, moments, meshing, and boundary layers
  • Grounding in first principles and practical deployment challenges for flight vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Architect, rapidly prototype, and implement aerodynamic design for highly maneuverable small diameter (120 mm and lower) surface-to-air interceptors
  • Shape optimal airframe geometries and inform control surface and propulsion integration
  • Define flight envelope from launch to endgame
  • Develop integrated aerodynamic solutions spanning conceptual shaping through detailed CFD analysis to flight validation
  • Interface directly with guidance, manufacturing, and structures experts
  • Design adaptive aerodynamic configurations maintaining stability and control throughout the flight envelope
  • Create robust solutions performing across dispersed environments, atmospheric conditions, threat sets, and engagement scenarios
