We seek a Senior Turbomachinery Engineer to enhance the Propulsion Development team.

This role develops and optimizes advanced propulsion systems to meet aggressive goals. Responsibilities include developing and qualifying air-breathing propulsion systems and supporting flight testing. Own critical turbomachinery components across design, analysis, manufacturing, and assembly.

Conduct aerodynamic and thermodynamic analysis to evaluate designs. Assist in research and development of aircraft engines, components, combustion, and fuel injection systems. Ensure turbomachinery meets manufacturing goals, minimum cost/weight, and aggressive schedules.

Lead projects from conception through testing and validation. Collaborate closely with manufacturing and assembly teams. Bring cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking to military systems rapidly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in turbomachinery engineering
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of internal combustion engines
  • Creation and maintenance of 3D models of compressor geometry
  • Exposure to testing of engines, or powertrain components
  • Proven expertise in the aerodynamics and thermodynamics of turbomachinery
  • Professional experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) or other CAD packages
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data

Responsibilities

  • Own critical turbomachinery components and be responsible for every aspect of the turbomachinery design and analysis, demonstrating ownership and work in close collaboration with manufacturing and assembly
  • Assist in research and development regarding design of aircraft engines, engine components, advanced combustion and fuel injection systems
  • Conduct aerodynamic and thermodynamic analysis to evaluate new and existing designs
  • Ensure that turbomachinery solutions are developed to meet challenging manufacturing goals, minimum cost/weight and on an aggressive schedule
  • Lead projects from conception through to testing and validation
