Berkeley, US · Full-time · $164,900 – $223,100

About this role

Boeing is looking for a Senior Aerodynamic Stability & Control Engineer to support BDS Phantom Works projects. The position encompasses leadership and execution responsibilities in aerodynamic design, conceptual aircraft design optimization, stability and control analysis, aerodynamic database development, and wind tunnel testing.

Daily tasks include stability & control analysis and control surface sizing for tactical aircraft configurations. Engineers perform aerodynamic design of flight vehicles and lead wind tunnel test planning, execution, data analysis, and documentation. They develop aerodynamic databases from wind tunnel, CFD, and flight test data.

Integration of aerodynamic databases into 6-DOF simulation tools is key, alongside leading trade studies, design space explorations, and vehicle optimization studies. The role involves working on advanced aerospace projects in a collaborative engineering environment. Team members contribute to multidisciplinary efforts on tactical aircraft.

Opportunities include training and mentoring others on the MDAO process and best practices. Engineers gain exposure to Phantom Works innovation in fixed-wing tactical programs. This position supports career growth in specialized aerodynamics stability and control.
