About this role
Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will handle various multi-disciplinary engineering tasks and task/project management related to spacecraft, space mission design, and systems engineering. Technical tasks may include requirements development, trade studies, spacecraft design, system sizing, trajectory/orbital analysis, modeling and simulation, thermal analysis, and mechanical design and analysis.
Work may involve AMA developed concepts as well as engineering services for NASA or commercial Aerospace companies. Systems may include a range of manned and unmanned space vehicles, including satellites, capsules, lifting bodies, and launch vehicles, as well as design, analysis and planning. Additionally, design, analysis and upgrades to facilities in support of complex aerospace testing may be included.
The successful candidate will lead small teams of junior engineers to teams of senior engineers and provide mentorship as well as task management and planning across various projects. To support a growing office, the position will require responsibilities that engage a very wide breadth of activities across subject matter. This role demands the ability to interface successfully with customers.

Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of applicable work-related experience
- Experience in task/project management and leading teams of various sizes and experience levels
- Strong systems engineering background with knowledge of spacecraft subsystems including structures, thermal, GN&C, power, avionics, propulsion
- Ability to interface successfully with customers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to dynamic work requirements and learn new disciplines
- US citizenship required
- Breadth of experience and aptitude to learn new subjects preferred over depth in any particular area
