At Blue Origin, we envision people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles within a culture of safety and collaboration. Interns join our team of problem solvers to add new chapters to spaceflight history.
As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will work directly with engineering teams on projects involving system definition, systems test, and requirements verification. You may also contribute to system safety, operations, and verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems.
Interns gain hands-on real-world experience while receiving mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers. You will participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization, fostering a broader understanding of aerospace systems.
This internship offers the chance to apply systems engineering principles in a high-stakes aerospace environment, with support for housing and relocation. You will focus on developing skills that directly impact the future of spaceflight.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
- Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school (sophomore standing) at time of application.
- Available to work full-time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for space.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with Blue Origin engineering teams on projects that support business units.
- Perform system definition, systems test, system integration, and requirements verification.
- Contribute to system safety, operations, and verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems.
- Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced mentors and managers.
