About this role
Cirrus Aircraft is the recognized global leader in personal aviation, maker of the best-selling SR Series piston aircraft and the Vision Jet, the world’s first single engine Personal Jet. The Airframe Engineering Intern generates drawings and documents for substantiating new or revised airframe designs. This onsite position in Duluth, MN runs from May through August 2025.
Interns interface with design engineers in advanced design or sustaining groups working on new airframe designs or revisions to existing production approved designs. They perform structural sizing of composite and metal parts using classical hand calculations and FEA. They generate documentation of final design analysis to support production or prototype drawing release.

Requirements
- Upper division student within two years of graduation
- Pursuing relevant degree and successfully completed courses in Statics & Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Materials Science, Machine Component Design
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Able to complete entire duration of internship
- Able to secure local housing for duration of internship
Responsibilities
- Generate drawings and documents for substantiating new or revised airframe designs
- Interface with design engineers working on new airframe designs or revisions to existing production approved designs
- Perform structural sizing of composite and metal parts using classical hand calculations and FEA
- Generate documentation of final design analysis to support production or prototype drawing release
- Generate design reviews to support design approvals and product gate reviews
