As an Aerospace Stress Engineer, perform stress analysis using Nastran/Patran for components, systems, and structures. Conduct static and fatigue analyses to ensure structural integrity and compliance with standards.

Daily tasks include meshing per client specs, creating boundary conditions and loads in Nastran input files, and debugging models for coherence. Postprocess results with client options and generate detailed technical reports. Participate in design reviews and specific meetings with the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of aircraft structure and aircraft loads
  • Experienced in static calculations for sizing and stress analysis of aircraft structures by hand calculations, valid methods, and numerical simulations (FEM)
  • Understand legacy stress reports
  • Experience in numerical modeling, post-processing, extraction, and reporting of results
  • Very well-versed in stress dossier writing
  • Knowledge and experience on composite and sandwich structures (desirable)
  • Proficiency in Nastran/Patran, Hypermesh, Hyperview for post-processing, Catia V5 (basic), MS Office, Excel, and VBA macros

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress analysis and calculations for aerospace components, systems, and structures using Nastran/Patran software
  • Analyze and interpret stress results to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
  • Conduct static and fatigue analyses to assess the structural integrity and durability of aerospace components
  • Generate detailed analysis reports and technical documentation to document methodologies and conclusions
  • Mesh models depending on client specifications including 1D, 2D, 3D, mixed models, skin elements, and rigid elements
  • Create boundary conditions and loads mostly in Nastran input file
  • Create various checks for the model and debug fatal errors and warnings in f06 files
  • Postprocess using specific client options and participate in design reviews and other specific meetings
