About this role

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security organization seeks entry-level aircraft focused Aerodynamics Engineers for the Flight Systems Capability Aerodynamics Team. Opportunities include providing engineering and technical decisions for Boeing Military Aircraft (B-1B, B-2, B-52), Military Derivative Aircraft (E-7 AEW&C, E-3 AWACS), Tankers (KC-135, KC-767), and diverse projects. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Assignments offer learning aircraft aerodynamics analytical methods, tools such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing. Generate aircraft flight performance data charts and assess stability & control characteristics for various platforms. Assist with certification and qualification processes of aerodynamic characteristics of flight vehicles.

Work under close supervision with on-the-job training provided initially. Position is 100% onsite at the Oklahoma City location. Requires US Citizenship for ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Supports development of new and improving existing technologies, tools, and processes to enhance technology readiness. Improves vehicle performance, reduces cycle time and cost. Assists with test requirements for wind tunnel, ground, flight, and product support testing of aerodynamics characteristics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, physics, or mathematics
  • General understanding of aircraft flight characteristics
  • General understanding of aerodynamic analysis methods such as wind tunnel testing or computational fluid dynamics
  • US Citizenship required for US Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering, with Aerodynamics or Aerospace emphasis
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic analysis principles, processes, methods, and aerodynamic testing of flight vehicles
  • Familiarity with aircraft performance and stability & control
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and analysis of aerodynamic/aerothermodynamic flight vehicles to ensure requirements are met
  • Support development of new and improving existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost
  • Assist with development of test requirements such as wind tunnel, ground, flight, accident and incident, and product support testing of aerodynamics characteristics
  • Generate aircraft flight performance data charts
  • Assess stability & control characteristics for various platforms
  • Assist with certification and qualification processes of aerodynamic characteristics
  • Assist in training
  • Work under general supervision
