About this role

Join SOGECLAIR as a Structural Stress Engineer focused on aircraft development. Perform sizing and support analysis activities for design changes, improvements, and new programs. Ensure aircraft meet or exceed all technical requirements throughout the design process.

Support the design from initial concept through final production. Write structural substantiation reports compliant with program technical requirements and certifying authority guidelines. Create new certification DFEM models or update existing ones.

Collaborate with various teams to produce quality products backed by appropriate documentation. Demonstrate expertise in loads-structures interactions and structural sizing methodologies. Engage effectively in multidisciplinary teams using strong communication skills.

Develop leadership competencies while tackling complex technical problems autonomously. Leverage proficiency in classical analysis methods and FEA tools like MSC Patran/Nastran and Altair Hypermesh. Contribute to fatigue and damage tolerance analyses with tools such as Nasgro.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in aircraft structural stress analysis
  • Good knowledge of interactions between loads and structures
  • Mastery of structural sizing methodologies
  • Expertise in classical analysis methods and finite element analysis tools (e.g., MSC Patran/Nastran, Altair Hypermesh)
  • Knowledge and experience in fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT) analysis and associated tools (e.g., Nasgro)
  • Understanding of civil aircraft certification rules and experience with certification procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; CATIA V5 and Enovia an asset
