At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety and collaboration.

As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects supporting our business units. Intern projects involve applied systems engineering including system definition, systems test, integration, requirements verification, and system safety.

Interns gain hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems. They receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers while contributing to real-world spaceflight development.

The internship includes events to learn about other parts of the organization. Blue Origin offers housing and relocation support; interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from their work locations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship
  • Available to work full time while not concurrently enrolled in coursework
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with requirements and/or verification (desired)
  • Experience with modeling and simulation, mission architecture, and programming (desired)
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn (desired)
  • Hands-on project experience and strong interest in Blue Origin's mission (desired)

Responsibilities

  • Apply systems engineering principles to system definition, systems test, and system integration
  • Perform requirements verification and system safety analysis
  • Support operations and system verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems
  • Gain hands-on, real-world experience on active aerospace projects
  • Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced engineers and managers
  • Participate in events to learn about other parts of the organization
  • Contribute to mission architecture and modeling and simulation efforts as needed
