About this role
Kearfott Corporation seeks a Software Verification Engineer II to join its Guidance & Navigation Division. The role focuses on verification and validation of safety-critical embedded software for next-generation guidance and navigation products.
You will ensure software compliance with DO-178C objectives through requirements-based testing and structural coverage analysis. Additional duties include test development, execution, and generation of compliance documentation.
This position involves collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams in a lab environment at the Pine Brook, NJ facilities. All work supports rigorous verification activities aligned with the V-model software development lifecycle.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of software verification principles for embedded or real-time systems
- Experience with C/C++ in the context of software testing and analysis
- 2+ years of experience in embedded systems verification, validation, or testing
- Experience with requirements-based testing, test case development, and traceability
- Familiarity with debugging and test tools such as emulators, logic analyzers, and test frameworks
- Understanding of software development lifecycle processes (V-model)
- US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- Perform verification and validation of safety-critical embedded software for guidance and navigation products
- Ensure software compliance with DO-178C objectives through requirements-based testing and structural coverage analysis
- Conduct requirements verification, test case development, and traceability activities
- Execute test development, test procedures, and test reports in accordance with DO-178C guidelines
- Support certification activities and generate compliance documentation
- Participate in peer reviews of verification artifacts and test procedures
