About this role
BGS Commercial Modifications Engineering Europe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Support the certification of large aircraft modifications to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements. Follow procedures defined in the company’s Design Organization Handbook (DOH).
Report to the Structures Engineering Manager and work with the global engineering team across multiple time-zones. Identify requirements and associated solutions for active and upcoming projects. Lead certification activities to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Compile and critically review structural substantiation documents for product certification and integration. Handle new seating installations, monument and furniture such as galleys, lavatories, class dividers, first class suites, VVIP furnishing, cabin interior changes including LOPAs, and primary structure changes like antenna installations and fuselage modification.
Act as Boeing representative during customer meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI. Provide on-site support during the embodiment phase of projects. Promote a culture of innovation, safety, and quality throughout the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree within Aerospace/Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering
- Equivalent of a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience
- Proficient in hand calculations using classic stress analysis techniques
- Proficient in Finite Element Analysis
- Proficient in Technical Report Writing
- Working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR 25 requirements
- Knowledge and experience of aircraft interior reconfiguration programmes and primary and secondary aircraft structures
- High level of attention to detail and professional integrity
Responsibilities

- Address cabin interior changes including LOPAs, Passenger Service Unit layouts, LRU installations
- Manage primary structure changes including antenna installations and fuselage modification
- Promote a culture of innovation, safety, and quality throughout the engineering organization
- Act as Boeing representative during customer meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI and provide on-site support during embodiment phase
