About this role

Stirling Dynamics is seeking to recruit an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to support a range of upcoming programmes of work. The Engineer will work within a small team to deliver a variety of CFD modelling activities and analyses. The role will best suit an individual with extensive experience within the aerospace domain.

Interact with internal and external customers on a technical and programme level. Develop suitable methodologies and conduct CFD analyses at a consistently high standard within budget. Prepare, present technical reports and proposals while supporting project management planning documentation.

Maintain project documentation in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System. Ensure delegated tasks achieve their full objectives and manage multiple tasks within agreed timescales and budgets. The role is predominantly based in Bristol office with occasional travel and flexible working including work from home part of the week.

Self-motivated professionals with strong organisational skills will thrive in this customer-facing position. Exposure to aircraft design activities and aerodynamic data for certification supports ongoing programmes. Regular social events provide opportunities to mix with the team.

Requirements

  • Significant industry experience in CFD modelling with ANSYS toolsets including FLUENT
  • Experience with steady and unsteady external aerodynamic flows of civil and/or military aircraft
  • Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, working effectively within a team or independently
  • Good interpersonal skills, including a diplomatic and professional approach
  • Capable of working efficiently and accurately, with attention to detail and self-checking results
  • Good organisational skills, including record keeping
  • Able to act in a customer facing position

Responsibilities
