Getafe, ES · Full-time · €35,000 – €50,000

About this role

A vacancy for a junior Aerodynamics Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space. The successful applicant will join the team responsible for aerodynamic development and optimisation of aircraft. They will participate in activities like external shape design, aerodynamic models for performance, handling qualities, loads, safe separation analysis, and wind tunnel tests.

In a multidisciplinary Flight Physics environment, collaboration occurs with international partners. Main tasks include designing air vehicle external shapes and providing comprehensive aerodynamic models and data on performance, handling qualities, and loads in steady and unsteady modes. Optimised solutions and data are delivered to customers on time, cost, and quality.

The role involves answering aerodynamics program specifications by developing technologies, methods, tools, skills, and competencies in Aerodynamics disciplines. Contributions support vehicle projects' aerodynamic and flight performance requirements within prescribed objectives. Expertise is developed in numerical and experimental aerodynamic prediction tools.

Aerodynamic technologies are acquired consistent with company strategy. Links are maintained with the external research community in Aerodynamics and multi-disciplinary air vehicle design. Connections are fostered with disciplines like structures, loads, stability & control, and mass properties.

Airbus supports flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking. The position requires awareness of compliance risks and commitment to integrity for company success and sustainable growth.
