About this role

This role has direct responsibility for the Technical Services teams of Avionics, Cabin, Systems and Structures. It provides Engineering support to the A320 Family and A330 Fleets in UK and Ireland. The position ensures rigorous airworthiness and maintenance standards across operations.

Day-to-day involves managing team performance through reviews and developing competencies. Ensure Engineering changes are risk assessed and mitigated while rigorously implementing the Airworthiness Directive process. Review OEM data like Airbus SB and ISI for risk-based decisions on modifications.

Provision latest maintenance data including ICAs from aircraft delivery and updates. Output Engineering Orders and Technical Notices to highest standards for Maintenance, Planning and Materials. Update aircraft damage charts and repair files timely for A320 Family and A330 structures.

Provide support to Line Maintenance, MCC and Technical Support for complex damage assessments. Maintain oversight of subcontracted organisations in a collaborative environment. Join a team passionate about aviation with a 'how can I help?' attitude.

Requirements

  • Expertise in airframe engineering for A320 Family and A330 aircraft
  • Knowledge of Airworthiness Directives and rigorous implementation processes
  • Experience reviewing OEM data such as Airbus SB, ISI and performing cost of prevention vs failure analysis
  • Proficiency in provisioning ICAs and latest maintenance data for fleet operations
  • Skills in risk assessing and mitigating engineering changes
  • Ability to manage Technical Services teams including performance reviews
  • Familiarity with aircraft structures damage assessments and repair files
  • Oversight experience with subcontracted aviation organisations

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the performance and competency of the Systems, Cabin, Avionics and Structures Teams by conducting performance reviews
  • Ensure Engineering changes are appropriately risk assessed and mitigated
  • Rigorously implement the Airworthiness Directive process
  • Ensure OEM data including Airbus SB and ISI is continuously reviewed with risk-based decision making for non-mandatory modifications
  • Provision latest maintenance data including all ICAs relevant to the Aer Lingus fleet from delivery and as modified
  • Ensure output from Technical Services such as Engineering Orders and Technical Notices meets highest standards for Maintenance use
  • Ensure aircraft damage charts and repair files are updated timely for A320 Family and A330 fleets
  • Provide support to Line Maintenance, MCC and Technical Support for complex damage assessments and repairs
  • Maintain oversight of subcontracted organisations
