Are you an experienced Controls Engineer looking for a new rewarding role? Doncasters has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controls Engineer with a continuous improvement mindset to join our experienced team. This vital role ensures furnaces and supporting production equipment run efficiently with minimal downtime.

Work closely with Maintenance, Production, and Project teams to troubleshoot issues, create implementation plans, and ensure successful implementation of instrument and control solutions. Develop standards for control types and configurations on new equipment and instrumentation used in manufacturing processes. Oversee installations and make programming changes to maintain and improve operations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving Electrical and Controls issues in plant setting
  • Ability to work alone or as a team, and able to multitask
  • A passion for training and mentoring maintenance and production staff
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

  • Develop standards and specific control types and configurations for new equipment and instrumentation used in the manufacturing process
  • Oversee installation of control systems and instrumentation on new and/or existing equipment
  • Develop and maintain required documentation to support controls applications used in the manufacturing process, including operation and maintenance
  • Make programming changes required to maintain and improve the manufacturing processes
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes that will benefit from automation techniques
  • Train production and maintenance personnel in control operations, maintenance, and programming functions
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety standards, and OSHA compliance
  • Travel up to 10% based on business need
