About this role

The Systems Engineering Intern supports the Product and Innovation organization by performing lab tests of technical solutions to improve products and services for SES Aero business to airlines. This role applies analytical skills and engineering process criteria to validate innovative concepts or disprove them. It provides corresponding recommendations and corrections.

Daily tasks include analyzing current Internet application trends per region and creating baselines for Quality of Service and Quality of Experience associated with top applications. Interns conduct lab tests of product prototypes against these top applications. They perform performance analysis under variations in bandwidth and link conditions.

Working within the Product and Innovation team, the intern contributes to traffic management policies that enable a differentiated portfolio of products. This controls satellite bandwidth usage to reduce costs for customers. The environment emphasizes data-driven insights in aerospace and telecom.

Interns validate lab findings with production data and participate in product launches. They perform correlation analysis between lab testing and production observations. The role culminates in presenting reports with results and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into business insights
  • Understanding of network data flow concepts
  • Programming experience with Python
  • Basic understanding of ISO communication levels
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
  • Experience working with large datasets and data processing tools
  • Exposure to Internet data traffic concepts
  • Experience with the Telecom Industry
