Costa Mesa, US · Full-time · $191,000 – $253,000

About this role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system creating realtime 3D command and control. The Senior Aerodynamics Engineer supports autonomous drones in the Tactical Recon & Strike division.

Perform aerodynamic design of fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and hybrid VTOL platforms at conceptual, preliminary, and detail design maturities. Conduct analysis of unmanned air vehicles using low and high-order methods, including tool development. Generate loads, model performance, and support wind tunnel and flight testing.

The GNC and Aerodynamics team within TRS implements, analyzes, tests, and validates GNC software for the autonomous drone fleet. Applications include attitude control, waypoint guidance, and navigation in GPS-denied environments. Partner closely with specialist engineering, operations, and production teams on products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius.

Build highly capable autonomous drones and solid rocket motors at scale using advanced materials and high-volume production. Contribute to reliable propulsion and robotics in demanding mission environments. Deliver cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking to the military in months, not years.
