Aerodynamics Engineer

2w

Textron Aviation

Lutz, US · Full-time · $105,000 – $135,000

About this role

The Aerodynamics Engineer, a member of the Flight Dynamics Group, develops, integrates, tests, and documents aerodynamic and engine simulations for flight training simulators. These cover fixed and rotary-wing commercial and military aircraft. A background in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and feedback control is essential in this fast-paced prototyping environment.

Daily tasks include creating aircraft flight test plans with on-site data collection, post-processing test data, and preparing simulator verification roadmaps. Engineers build aerodynamic and engine math models that run in real-time. They integrate these with simulator hardware, computers, and other systems.

Collaboration occurs with multi-disciplined engineering groups to meet simulator performance standards. Participation involves system requirements, design, test reviews, and international acceptance events with customers and regulators. Maintaining knowledge of flight simulator regulations and technologies is key.

Join Textron Aviation's legacy as a global leader in private aviation with opportunities to expand skills and build a career. A competitive total rewards package supports you and family from day one. Success aligns with passion for empowering flight freedom.
