As an Aerospace Assembly Technician in Richmond, BC, support the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) program assembling Certifiable Ground Control Stations (CGCS).

Assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical flight control systems for Canada's RPAS fleet. Follow existing instructions, employ specialized training, and apply industry best practices. Complete QA documents to confirm functional and performance specifications are met.

Work alongside experienced technicians and engineering staff handling classified information and sensitive equipment. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ability to follow instructions in a tightly regulated environment. Question the status quo and recommend improvements.

Note that this position requires 6-12 months of in-person training in the United States before relocating to Richmond, BC. Expect extensive domestic and international travel for on-the-job training and commissioning at customer sites. Contribute to missions like RADARSAT Constellation and CHORUS SAR satellites.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex RPAS ground control stations by following instructions and employing specialized training
  • Follow existing test procedures and complete related QA documents to confirm specifications
  • Integrate, commission, and maintain RPAS ground control stations at customer sites
  • Support engineering team in troubleshooting, failure investigations, and implementation of improvements
  • Handle classified information and sensitive equipment with professionalism
  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly of flight control systems per industry best practices
  • Conduct functional testing and verification of ground control station performance
