About this role

Boeing is looking for a Senior Aerodynamic Stability & Control Engineer to support BDS Phantom Works projects in Berkeley, MO. The position encompasses leadership and execution in aerodynamic design, conceptual aircraft design optimization, stability and control analysis, aerodynamic database development, and wind tunnel testing.

Daily responsibilities include stability & control analysis and control surface sizing for tactical aircraft configurations. Perform aerodynamic design of flight vehicles, wind tunnel test planning, execution, data analysis, and post-test documentation. Develop and integrate aerodynamic databases into 6-DOF simulation tools.

Lead trade studies, design space explorations, and vehicle optimization studies in a collaborative team environment. Train and mentor others on the MDAO process and best practices. Apply domain knowledge of fixed-wing tactical aircraft programs.

Contribute to advanced aerospace projects with opportunities for multidisciplinary design, analysis, and optimization. Gain exposure to uncertainty quantification and aircraft performance analysis. Boeing supports a Drug Free Workplace with comprehensive policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience in Aerodynamics Stability & Control
  • Experience in performing trade studies and vehicle design optimization
  • Experience conducting wind tunnel testing
  • Experience with aerodynamic database development

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stability & control analysis and control surface sizing for tactical aircraft configurations

  • Develop aerodynamic databases from wind tunnel, CFD, and flight test data
