About this role
A vacancy for an Aerodynamics Engineer has arisen within Airbus Operations in Getafe, Spain. The successful applicant will join the Aerodynamics 1GACS department at the heart of aircraft design. Our main mission is to deliver suitable aircraft design and configuration for optimum performance, meeting highest sustainability standards.
As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will contribute to generating external shapes of components fulfilling mission requirements and constraints. This involves activities from early design stages to detail design phases. Apply numerical tools, update and validate design through wind-tunnel testing and flight-test.
Part of a highly collaborative and transnational team, you will work across project teams and disciplines. Secure multi-disciplinary design solutions meeting customer requirements while delivering on time, cost and quality. Present throughout the full aircraft life from concept to in-service support.

Requirements
- Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering, with a specialisation in Aerodynamics
- Experience in aerodynamic numerical simulations/Computational Fluid Dynamics, wind tunnel test or flight test
- Knowledge of CAD (CatiaV5, 3DX or similar)
- Knowledge of CFD (meshing, solver, numerical optimization, turbulence models, limitations, etc.)
- Working knowledge of a programming language (preferably Python)
- Familiarity with data science (machine learning and artificial intelligence) would be an advantage
- Able to take decisions, communicate and influence effectively, and build trustful relationships
- Aptitude for complex problem solving and innovation
Responsibilities
- Deliver aerodynamic shapes according to requirements and constraints
- Deliver conclusions of aerodynamic design studies and potential aerodynamic improvements of new and existing airplanes
- Contribute to define and implement future aerodynamic processes and technologies to keep Airbus at the forefront of innovation
- Collaborate across transnational project teams and disciplines to secure multi-disciplinary design solutions meeting customer requirements while delivering on time, cost and quality
- Provide aerodynamic support to manufacturing plants and airline operations
