Aerodynamics Engineer - Flight in Icing Conditions
3w3 weeks agoAirbus
Manching, DE · Full-time · €70,000 – €95,000
About this role
Join a team of great aerodynamic engineers in Aerodynamic Design to push boundaries at the heart of Airbus. Pave the way into a more digital, sustainable, and safer future. Our group is responsible for aerodynamic design and characterization for military aircraft programs along their product life cycle.
A skilled aerodynamicist with technical background in flight in icing is needed. Perform aerodynamic design and analysis to ensure compliance with icing conditions. Develop methods and tools for icing analysis, including watercatch and ice accretion predictions for wind tunnel and flight testing.
Quantify aircraft performance and safety in icing, assessing anti-icing and de-icing systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Ice Protection Systems, Propulsion, and Mechanical Integration. Lead participation in multi-disciplinary design reviews and support certification with EASA and FAA.
Work in a diverse environment with more than 140 nationalities where every voice is heard. Enjoy excellent upskilling opportunities and international development prospects. Benefit from family-work compatibility including flexible hours and part-time models.
Requirements
- Higher education in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, or equivalent
- Three or more years of professional experience in Aerodynamics
- Experience in aircraft design including aerodynamics in icing conditions
- Technical background in flight in icing
- Familiarity with icing certification requirements (EASA, FAA)
- Knowledge of water impingement and ice accretion modeling
- Experience with aerodynamic performance assessment in icing environments
Responsibilities
- Conduct aerodynamic design and analysis to ensure compliance with flight in icing conditions
