Leidos Integrated Aviation Solutions Division seeks a Systems Engineer for its Bridgewater office. Deliver innovative solutions through diverse teams dedicated to customer success, community contributions, and sustainability. Support multi-purpose aerial platforms for today's warfighter.
Act as lead engineer driving technical decisions on projects from conception to decommission. Document, decompose, and derive requirements with verification and validation methods to ensure system performance and safety. Perform trade studies and technical assessments for system architecture.
Collaborate with functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Integration Technicians, Pilots, and Mission Operators. Manage V&V through technical reviews, document oversight, and Requirements Verification Traceability methodologies. Track risks via Hazard Tracking System focused on airworthiness and flight safety.
Work with Project Engineering and Management on schedule, budget, resources, and configuration. Support engineering processes, quality audits, technical proposals, and systems engineering models for product baselines. Guided by Leidos Mission, Vision, and Values for impactful challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Aerospace, Mechanical) and eight years of relevant experience; additional years may substitute for degree
- Excellent communications skills to interface with stakeholders, including customer and project team
- Ability to access various areas of different aircraft types, involving kneeling, stooping, and standing
- Eligible to obtain and maintain minimum of Secret clearance
- Aerospace background with technical understanding of aerodynamic principles and analyses
- Experience in mechanical design, analyses, and test including static, dynamic, and fatigue principles
- Knowledge of electrical design, analyses, and test including electrical power and EMI/EMC principles
- Familiarity with aircraft weight and balance, airworthiness certification, manufacturing and integration principles
Responsibilities
- Act as lead engineer for one or more projects to drive technical decision making
- Document, decompose, and derive requirements along with verification and validation methods to ensure system performance and safety
- Work with functional teams to develop and manage system architecture based on requirements, including trade studies and technical assessments
- Perform and manage V&V methodology through technical reviews, document reviews, and RVTM methodologies
- Manage technical risks and mitigations via Hazard Tracking System related to airworthiness and flight safety
- Collaborate with Project Engineering/Management staff on schedule, budget, resource, and configuration management
- Support development and maintenance of engineering processes, including process metrics and quality audits
- Provide support to technical proposal teams and develop systems engineering models for product baselines
