Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice (Level 4)
1w1 week agoLeonardo
Yeovil, GB · Full-time · £17,850 – £17,850
About this role
Leonardo offers a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering apprentice to join the Industrial Operations function with the Helicopters division. Over the 4-year programme, work with the Manufacturing Engineering team and Early Careers team to input into the design of your training scheme. Placements provide insight into the complete Helicopter Product Life Cycle through 3-6 month rotations across Industrial Operations.
Engage in creation of technical specifications for delivery and solving daily manufacturing problems. Liaise with external suppliers for internal products and manufacturing issues while taking an active role in business improvement activities. Utilise problem-solving techniques to conduct non-conformance investigations and create manufacturing routings, process sketches, and stage drawings to support the manufacturing process.
The apprenticeship starts with an Induction into Leonardo followed by Yeovil College Induction to establish requirements and expectations. Combine time between Yeovil College and work placements at Leonardo Helicopters, with increasing work placements through the years. A member of the Apprentice team at the site helps progress, protects study time, and enables access to digital learning.
Grow knowledge of an engineering business and develop practical skills in engineering processes and technologies. Support early careers activities as STEM ambassadors in schools, colleges, and universities. Complete an End Point Assessment as defined in the Apprenticeship Standard during the final months of the program.
