About this role

Bell is a pioneer in aviation, pushing boundaries from breaking the sound barrier to advanced tiltrotor systems. As a Senior Avionics Engineer, you will join a specialized engineering team shaping the future of flight through innovative avionics and electrical solutions.

In this role, you will analyze project, production, and certification requirements to develop technical solutions for aircraft avionics and electrical systems. You will support system integration, including component selection, interface compatibility, and electrical schematic drafting, while also writing test plans and procedures and analyzing results for functional and certification testing.

You will coordinate with avionics system suppliers on the development, integration, and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication and navigation systems, sensors, vision systems, and system health management. This position requires English communication with Bell teams outside Quebec, as well as with suppliers, partners, and clients.

Based at Bell's Mirabel, Quebec facility, you will be part of the Avionics and Systems Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on both civil certification standards (FAA, TCCA, EASA) and military programs, including Canadian government programs like the CH-146.

  • Experience developing avionics and electrical solutions for aircraft platforms.
  • Knowledge of civil certification standards (FAA, TCCA, EASA) and/or military certification standards.
  • Ability to analyze project, production, and certification requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Experience with system integration, component selection, and interface compatibility.
  • Proficiency in writing test plans, procedures, and qualification reports.
  • Ability to communicate in English with teams outside Quebec, suppliers, partners, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Update requirements in the technical requirements management tool in response to change requests.
  • Write and update certification plans, qualification plans, and compliance matrices.
  • Draft analyses supporting certification of installed or modified systems (electrical loads, thermal, safety analysis support, EMC, etc.).
  • Support aircraft testing and Systems Integration Lab (SIL) testing and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with avionics system suppliers on development, integration, and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication/navigation systems, sensors, vision systems, and system health management.
