As Manufacturing Engineering Leader (internally Director of Manufacturing Engineering), inspire, coordinate, and lead manufacturing, environmental test, and product owner teams. Deliver high-quality products on time with continuous improvement, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability focus.
Serve as focal point for manufacturing engineering and bridge to cross-functional teams. Forecast staffing needs, drive process improvements to cut costs and labor hours, and define technical standards for proposals. Track and drive Objectives and Key Results aligned with company goals across engineering teams.
Our team is curious, bold, and innovative, taking risks to challenge the status quo and explore new techniques. Work alongside other directors and the VP of Engineering as key technical leaders. Act as advocate ensuring production engineering has resources to exceed customer expectations.
Develop and sustain a vision for team growth and efficiency. Mentor leads, conduct performance reviews, identify talent for Technical Fellow positions, and sponsor transformational technologies. Manage overhead budgets and build metrics for product status insights.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (Post-Start)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing and engineering
- Minimum 4 years experience leading engineers
- Demonstrated ability to scale manufacturing rate capability
Responsibilities
- Act as focal point to manufacturing engineering and bridge to all cross-functional teams
- Forecast work and create tentative plans for staffing and work allocation
- Drive process improvements by identifying cross-team relationships to reduce cost and labor hours
- Define technical standards with proposal and B&P support, including technical, labor, and schedule reviews
- Define, track, and drive Objectives and Key Results aligned with company goals across engineering teams
- Provide design for manufacturability guidelines to drive standardization in engineering processes
- Mentor direct reports with regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and formal feedback
- Manage overhead budget across engineering teams for managers, software, training, tools, and equipment
