About this role

At Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, we bring together a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects to help innovative companies unleash their potential. Capgemini Engineering is looking to recruit a Senior Aerodynamics/CFD Engineer with focus on simulating airflow around aircraft designs and engines to optimize performance, handling, and safety. Join us for a career full of opportunities where you can make a difference and no two days are the same.

As an Aerodynamics/CFD engineer, you will use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to analyse aerodynamic behaviour, generate aerodynamic models, and provide data for aircraft and engine development. Key skills include expertise in CFD software, meshing, data analysis, and strong understanding of aerodynamics and flight dynamics. The role is hybrid with 3 days a week in the Mirabel office and requires Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

You will work with 3D CAD models to prepare geometries, create CFD meshes, and simulate airflow using tools like Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM, or STAR-CCM+. Post-process solutions with python scripts, Tecplot, or Paraview, and create aerodynamic models from CFD and experimental data. Maintain direct working relationships with clients and team members, representing your work in client meetings.

Lead junior engineers to integrate CFD results and contribute to project completion, while analysing results and presenting findings to stakeholders. Contribute to optimizing aircraft designs by identifying areas for improvement through aerodynamic analysis. Thrive in a busy environment as a team player with proactive attitude.

Requirements

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in aerodynamics
  • Proficiency in CFD software, meshing techniques, and turbulence modelling
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamic principles, flight mechanics, and aircraft performance
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and present CFD results effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English
  • Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy environment

Responsibilities

  • Work with 3D CAD models (e.g., 3DX, CATIA, SolidWorks) to prepare geometries for CFD simulations
  • Prepare CFD meshes (e.g., Fluent Meshing, ICEM CFD, ANSA or CADfix)
  • Use CFD software (like TAU, CODA, elsA, Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+) to simulate airflow and analyse aerodynamic performance
  • Post-process CFD solutions (e.g., python scripts, Tecplot, Paraview)
  • Create aerodynamic models and databases based on CFD and experimental data (wind tunnel, flight tests)
  • Contribute to the optimization of aircraft designs by analysing aerodynamic behaviour
  • Analyse CFD results, extract insights, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Lead junior engineers to integrate CFD results and contribute to project completion

Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangement (3 days a week in Mirabel office)
  • Career full of opportunities where you can make a difference
  • Work with a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects
