Odyssey Systems is recruiting Senior FMS Systems Engineer candidates to support the Attack Systems Division, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. This evergreen position proactively identifies highly qualified candidates for future openings across acquisition and program management efforts. Selected candidates may be considered based on experience, qualifications, and program needs.
Senior FMS Systems Engineers possess advanced knowledge and experience in FMS Engineering Management Support, working independently to apply procedures. They translate FMS user requirements into system requirements for weapon system contractors to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems. They assist in technical/mission analyses of operational requirements and perform technological/trade-off studies.
The role supports WID within the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), managing a $22 billion acquisition portfolio for Air Force ISR and SOF platforms and subsystems. Responsibilities include drafting SOOs, SOWs, program plans, and regulatory documents like the SEP and life cycle management plan. Engineers review contractor data, test plans, and technical proposals for feasibility and compatibility.
Opportunities involve systems integration, engineering performance assessments, and risk evaluations for full life cycle support. Apply engineering principles to improve performance and sustainability of joint service weapon systems. Support OSS&E assurance and Airworthiness Certification Criteria for aircraft systems.
Requirements

- Secret Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience (Journeyman level)
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience (Senior level)
- Advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be highly skilled in FMS Engineering Management Support
- Ability to work independently and apply procedures
- Knowledge of Airworthiness Certification Criteria for aircraft systems and subsystems
- Experience supporting acquisition program management of full life cycle requirements
Responsibilities
- Translate FMS user requirements into system requirements for weapon system contractors to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems
- Perform technical/mission analyses of operational requirements and develop system concepts
- Draft project documentation including SOOs, SOWs, program plans, schedules, and presentations
- Draft regulatory and statutory documentation including SEP and life cycle management plan
- Review contractor documents and data and provide comments
- Support test teams in development of test requirements and review test plans
- Evaluate technical proposals or modifications for cost, design feasibility, and system compatibility
- Provide systems/subsystems integration support for acquisition, development, and verification of systems
