As a mid-level Structural Engineer in Huntsville, AL, perform detailed structural analyses supporting all program phases from concepts to fielded systems. Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements. Analyze test data to correlate models and generate mechanical loads and environments.
Join a team of 200+ engineers working in all areas of structural engineering with assignments from classical stress analyses to state-of-the-art finite element methods. Support tests onsite and worldwide using industry-leading commercial tools. Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity under cost and schedule constraints.
Engage throughout product lifecycles from design trade studies and proposals through qualification testing to production support. Coordinate technical peer reviews, present to stakeholders and customers, and generate archival reports. Travel off-site as needed for test or design discussions.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with structural analyses using classical and finite element methods
- Familiarity with test planning and data analysis for structural validation
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs
- Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements
- Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments
- Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide answers under program cost and schedule constraints
- Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring technical accuracy of work product
- Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Generate detailed, archival technical reports
- Support on-site structural test activity and travel off-site for test or design discussions
