About this role

The Product Engineer owns all facets of turbine component repair including training, production support, corrective action, continuous improvement, and maturity. Develop new techniques, tools, methods, and equipment to improve process maturity while meeting business goals and metrics.

Provide technical support for customers and production, monitor yield and rework, disposition non-conforming product, and perform root cause corrective action. Turbine component repair consists of dimensional and coating restoration of high pressure turbine components utilizing welding, machining, and heat treat operations. Collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment to develop component designs and repairs meeting site, Chromalloy, and customer requirements for cost, performance, and durability. Engage with other engineers at the site to develop robust solutions impacting operational and financial performance using CI tools. Assist in making technical decisions on product and process design.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience as a Process or Product Engineer
  • BS Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Aerospace)
  • Proficiency with CAD software (NX or Solidworks preferred)
  • Knowledge of gas turbine repair methodologies
  • Experience with welding, machining, and heat treat operations for turbine components
  • Familiarity with FAA repair specifications and SPC implementation
  • Ability to troubleshoot process and production problems

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and communicate repair process performance to site leadership and other stakeholders
  • Apply CI tools and concepts on repair process to improve operational metrics
  • Optimize the production process and product design using a robust lean problem-solving methodology
  • Develop KPIs to effectively manage process and product outcomes
  • Utilize project management skills to lead assigned projects to successful completion
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop component designs and repairs
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and repair specifications for FAA approval
  • Implement SPC in the repair process and identify tooling improvements
