About this role
We're looking for a highly skilled Turbomachinery Engineering Expert to join our team. This role requires a subject matter expert in rotating machinery with hands-on experience in design, analysis, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate solves complex problems and mentors junior engineers.
Provide expert technical guidance on compressors, pumps, or steam turbines. Lead design, analysis, and troubleshooting of turbomachinery equipment to resolve operational issues. Consult on vibration, structural analysis, performance testing, and root cause failure analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, technical service, and engineering for equipment reliability. Create and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing procedures. Direct major investigations and guide skilled teams to influence stakeholders.
Develop initiatives for improvements in design, process, manufacture, and maintenance strategies. Drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Offer technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 15+ years of hands-on experience with engineered to order compressors, pumps, or steam turbines in engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience with full lifecycle of turbomachinery from design, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and operation
- Deep understanding of turbomachinery principles including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API 617, API 610, or API 612
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
- Proficiency in engineering software such as FEA, CFD, and vibration analysis techniques
Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level technical guidance and support for turbomachinery, specifically compressors, pumps, or steam turbines
- Direct major investigations, guide highly skilled teams, and present technical solutions to stakeholders
- Lead design, analysis, and troubleshooting of new and existing turbomachinery equipment
- Consult on critical analysis efforts including vibration, structural analysis, performance, testing, maintenance, and root cause failure analysis
- Develop and drive initiatives for improvement in design, process, manufacture, and operation and maintenance strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing operations, technical service, and engineering
- Create and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing procedures
- Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and manufacturing staff
