The Manufacturing Engineer works with operations and facilities teams to plan, manage, and support Capex projects on campus. This role coordinates projects to meet all internal and external requirements on-time and on-budget.

Develop work-scope specifications cross-functionally for capital projects, infrastructure changes, and equipment purchases. Research and identify suppliers and service providers while managing projects for safety, cost control, and timely completion. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing operations, facilities, and maintenance staff.

Collaborate with organizational groups to improve procedures and controls, incorporating team input for accurate feedback. Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings, assembly areas, and equipment. Review processes to preserve and improve employee safety while promoting a compliance culture per the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.

Design, source, test, and cost-justify tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing methods. Evaluate data and write reports to validate standards or indicate deviations. Embrace continuous improvement, agility, and perform special projects as required in a supportive, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering and 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or capital project management; or 7 years of manufacturing engineering or capital project management experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with the design of manufacturing processes and/or production facilities and infrastructure
  • Excellent organization, planning and follow-up skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite and MS Project
  • Practical experience using CAD software

Responsibilities
