About this role

CesiumAstro develops out-of-the-box communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and airborne platforms. The Senior Manager of Systems Engineering leads the team in developing complex, state-of-the-art space vehicles and payload systems. They oversee functional management of the department, including processes for requirements management and verification.

This role involves deploying resources to programs, developing standard processes for the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, and serving as primary technical contact with customers. Leads requirements definition, decomposition, CONOPS development, verification planning, and risk assessment. Collaborates closely with business development, conceptual design, and functional engineering teams on architecture concepts.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
  • Experience leading systems engineering teams in development of space vehicles and payload systems for space and airborne applications
  • Proficiency in requirements definition and decomposition, CONOPS development, verification planning, and risk assessment
  • Strong background in systems engineering lifecycle processes including conceptual design
  • Demonstrated ability in functional management, resource deployment, and customer interfaces
  • Expertise collaborating with business development and engineering teams on architecture concepts for communications systems
  • Proven mentoring and performance evaluation skills in a technical engineering environment
