Aerodynamics Engineer
3w3 weeks agoVertical Aerospace
Bristol, GB · Full-time · £50,000 – £70,000
About this role
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering electric aviation with the Valo eVTOL, a zero-emissions aircraft targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2028. The Aerodynamics team manages aerodynamics and aeroacoustics as part of Flight Physics, interfacing with every area. As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you support prototype and certification programs focused on propeller aerodynamic design, analysis, and testing.
You will produce, validate, and deliver high-quality aerodynamic data for airframe and propellers to cross-functional teams. Perform steady and unsteady CFD simulations to assess performance and behavior. Support experimental testing including wind tunnel campaigns and flight test activities.
Work closely with senior specialists and multidisciplinary teams to integrate propeller performance into system analyses. Investigate and resolve complex aerodynamic challenges related to propeller and airframe. Contribute to refining aerodynamic models and methodologies.
Growing quickly from prototype to scaling SME, Vertical offers a flexible, supportive environment for ingenuity and pace. Join a mission-driven team redefining aerospace best practices. Expect challenges that enable the best work of your career.
