São José dos Campos, BR · Full-time · BRL 150,000 – BRL 250,000
About this role
Boeing Brazil is seeking an Associate Flight Controls Engineer reporting to the Flight Control Engineering Manager in São José dos Campos. The role involves designing, analyzing, testing, and certifying flight control laws systems for large commercial aircraft. Support production and fleet operations on new derivative airplanes and advanced flight control technology.
Verify flight control requirements through simulation and analytical methods. Execute system- and component-level validation activities, including linear analyses for performance and robustness, and non-linear testing across integration levels like software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop. Conduct test planning, real-time monitoring, post-test analysis, report writing, and test failure mitigation.
Resolve airplane-level requirements into system and functional requirements with efficient validation methods. Analyze rejections, ground/flight test squawks, and review data for design validation and certification compliance. Investigate problem reports for timely resolution and participate in certification creating safety analyses, FMEA, and fault trees.
Support production efforts by resolving prototype problems at Boeing and supplier facilities, ensuring readiness for milestones like power-on and first flight. Engage in cross-functional coordination with manufacturing, avionics, crew-ops, aerodynamics, suppliers, airlines, and regulators. This hybrid position requires some onsite work at the listed location.
Join flight control laws and auto-flight teams working on challenging projects to bring new airplanes into service. Prepare for advanced technologies enhancing capability, efficiency, and safety of current and next-generation airliners. Demonstrate regulatory traceability and resolve compliance issues.
