About this role

Supervisor for the Airframe CAD Designer team responsible for new product and aircraft designs at Cirrus Aircraft. The role combines hands-on modeling leadership with team development to deliver consistent, high-quality airframe data.

Daily work centers on standardizing Creo and Windchill PDM practices, organizing workload distribution, and ensuring technical competency across the group. The supervisor also maintains required CEUs while guiding the team on composite design and manufacturing knowledge.

Close collaboration with Engineering drives the creation and revision of class A surfaces, solid models, and detailed drawings. The position incorporates engineering change orders and releases complete drawing packages on schedule.

Active resource management keeps data deliveries on time while advancing the team’s skills in geometric dimensioning, tolerance standards, and top-down modeling principles for composite airframe structures.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience with at least 3 years in engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
  • At least 4 years’ experience using Creo Parametric, preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience using Windchill PDMLink, preferred.
  • Strong experience creating detailed design drawings of airframe structures, propulsion components, and system components, preferred.
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Strong understanding of top-down modeling principles and practices.
  • Proficient in using multiple manufacturing processes including weldments, sheet metal forming, CNC machining, and composite layup drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure technical competency and consistency of self and team.
  • Standardize CAD (CREO/PDM) skills across the team.
  • Train and assist team members in geometric dimensioning and tolerance standards and practices.
  • Organize workload distribution across team members to support projects.
  • Work directly with Engineering to complete new designs and modifications, incorporate engineering change orders, and release detailed drawing packages.
  • Create and revise class A surfaces, solid models, and detailed drawings of complex components and assemblies using Creo Parametric.
  • Take active measures to ensure data deliveries are met on time, managing resources as necessary.
