São José dos Campos, BR · Full-time · BRL 220,000 – BRL 380,000

About this role

Boeing Brazil seeks a Mid-Career Flight Controls Engineer reporting to the Flight Control Engineering Manager. Accomplished, self-motivated engineers will design, analyze, test, and certify flight control laws systems for large commercial aircraft. Teams support production, fleet operations, and develop advanced technology for next-generation airliners to enhance capability, efficiency, and safety.

Verify flight control requirements through simulation and analytical methods. Execute system- and component-level validation including linear analyses for performance, robustness, rigid-body modes, and flexible modes. Perform non-linear testing across integration levels like software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, iron bird, and pilot-in-the-loop simulators covering nominal operations, failures, and disturbances.

Resolve airplane-level requirements into system and functional levels using time- and cost-efficient validation methods. Analyze rejections, ground/flight test squawks, and data for design validation and certification. Investigate problem reports for timely resolution and participate in creating certification artifacts like system safety analyses, FMEA, and fault trees.

Support production by resolving prototype issues at Boeing and supplier facilities, ensuring readiness for milestones like power-on, system tests, and first flight. Coordinate cross-functionally with manufacturing, avionics, crew-ops, aerodynamics, suppliers, airlines, and regulators. This hybrid position requires some onsite work with potential for future changes.

Requirements

  • Existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
  • Registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (CREA)
  • Experience verifying flight control requirements through simulation and analytical methods
  • Experience with system- and component-level validation including linear and non-linear analyses
  • Knowledge of flight control laws design, testing, and certification for commercial aircraft
  • Familiarity with integration testing in software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and pilot-in-the-loop simulators

Responsibilities

  • Verify flight control requirements through simulation and analytical methods
  • Execute system- and component-level validation activities including linear analyses for performance and robustness and non-linear testing across multiple integration levels
  • Resolve airplane level requirements into system level requirements and functional requirements with time and cost-efficient validation methods
  • Analyze and resolve rejections and ground/flight test squawks and review test data for design validation and certification compliance
  • Investigate problem reports and provide timely resolution/dispositioning
  • Participate in certification activities including creation of system safety analyses, FMEA, fault trees and demonstrate regulatory traceability
  • Support production efforts including resolution of prototype and first build problems and readiness for production milestones
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with manufacturing, avionics, suppliers, airline customers and regulatory agencies

Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangement requiring some onsite presence
