About this role

Boeing Brazil is seeking a Flight Controls Engineering Manager reporting to the Airplane Systems Senior Manager in the São José dos Campos office. This role demands strong technical knowledge of flight control systems and leadership to manage critical work statements within the team. The professional will oversee one or more sub-systems groups in BCA Flight Controls Engineering across program life cycles.

Responsibilities span development, certification, and sustaining phases for programs like 787, 737MAX, 777X, research and development, and future initiatives. Emphasis lies on systems safety, testing, requirements development, and verification. The position involves managing team priorities, resources, budget allocation, and technical decision-making.

Daily work includes people procurement, development, performance management, and mentorship of engineering teams. Coordination occurs with BCA flight control organization for program status reporting. Cross-functional collaboration engages Avionics, Crew Ops, Airplane Safety, Aero, System Stress, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain.

This hybrid role requires some onsite work at the listed location, at the hiring team's discretion. It offers opportunities for oversight of engineering quality and elevating status to senior management throughout program phases. Relocation is available based on candidate eligibility.

Requirements

  • Existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (CREA)
  • Degree in Engineering
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English
  • Experience in management or technical leadership role within aerospace industry
  • Knowledge of flight control systems
  • In depth experience working with aircraft systems safety
  • In depth experience working with aircraft systems testing at laboratory or rig environment
