About this role
GKN Aerospace is reimagining air travel: going further, faster and greener. We're seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support Resin Transfer Molding and Composite Fabric Layup with technical responsibility for part fabrication. This role involves a variety of engineering tasks in a fast-moving environment.
Perform daily manufacturing support through planning, designing, and modifying tooling and processes. Resolve production problems and complete updates to standard work instructions on assigned parts. Deliver technical support while exemplifying a safety first mindset.
Work in a production environment, traveling throughout the facility to gather information. Develop working relationships with other departments and explain concepts to diverse audiences. Ensure compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

Requirements
- Bachelor's in engineering or related fields (Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Aerospace, etc.)
- Strong communication skills
- U.S. Citizen
- 0-3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably NX or CATIA
- Experience in creating working instructions
- Ability to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facility
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs using proper lifting techniques
Responsibilities
- Exemplify a safety first mindset and ensure compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards
- Deliver technical support of manufacturing processes including Resin Transfer Molding and Composite Fabric Layup
- Employ Zero Defect Manufacturing tools to eliminate non-conformances and reworks
- Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean Initiatives
- Support and lead root cause and corrective action investigations
- Develop and continuously improve manufacturing process solutions to complex problems
- Plan, design, and modify tooling and processes
- Resolve production problems and update standard work instructions on assigned parts
